Any Ford Projects?

Anyone working on a Ford project now? Just trying to get an idea of what people are doing.

I am working on a 351W rebuild for my truck (92 F150). I've had a blower on the existing motor for years and am shooting for 500 HP from the new motor. Got a lot done so far but need to work on getting the pistons to match the heads and get the target compression ratio I want.

Hoping to have this done so I can use the truck in the summer...just got to get off my lazy butt...oh, and find an extra $3K.

Not a truck project, but working on restoring a 68 Mustang coupe. Long term project, trying to get the interior finished, then either engine or body. Body is in relatively good condition, motor (200-6) not. Thinking about a Clifford 6=8 rebuild.

got my old 78 f250, constant project with this one. its kind of a frankenstien pickup, as its a 74-75-76-78-79 year and thats just the parts i have indentified so far. not to mention the ones i have yet to figure out. its got a 429 with a c6 and a 4bbl carter afb on it. want to get either a 390 or just do the 5.9 12valve cummins swap in it. not sure yet. also trying to talk the wife into letting me put a crew cab on it and make it a crew cab short box. it a reg cab lwb right now and there is only 17.3 inches difference between the the crewcab short box and the reg cab long box. so it would look pretty good, but she is not going for it yet. still working on that, for now just want to get it running great and reliable.

Lately, I'm pitching in on other people's projects:

One guy is putting 3/4 ton, full width axles under his early Bronco.

Another bud has me digging through my FE stash for little parts and pieces. He's getting close to putting a hot 390 back in his Crew Cab.

Next weekend, I'm helping another bud cut the IFS off his Ranger. He has a D-44/9" combo waiting to go in.

Too bad they don't post here...

all those sound like good projects. This weekend I identified the parts I need for my motor...hopefully I can finally make some progress.

Did a compression test on the 200-6. Low was #1 @80psi, then 2&3 @110, 4,5,& 6 at 120. Going to try a seafoam soak to see of #1 will come up to around 110 or so. Next to check distributor condition, points, and timing. Now have all but the doors painted inside, trying to put the dash back together, then onto the rear quarter windows.

I haven't been over here in a while, and still don't live back in CO yet, but thought I would chime in if you don't mind. I am in the process of "restoring" my 86 f150. This weekend I am taking the body off, wire wheeling the frame, and painting it with por-15. I am also getting, from a fellow CT chapter fte member, a "new" bed, and "new" front fenders. I will be blasting the body, and then painting with an epoxy primer sealer. Not sure when I will be able to get around to paint, so the epoxy seems like the best option. Then, I am bringing the old 300-6 back to life, and then some. I have a Holley 465cfm, offy DP, EFI exhaust manifolds, and DUI HEI distributor all going into the engine(for now). I think that wraps up the project for right now. I have been gathering all the necessary parts for the engine stuff for a little over a year now. The body stuff wasn't even a thought at first. The guy let me know he was scrapping his truck, and asked if I wanted anything off of it, so I had to jump at the opportunity.

I wouldn't call it a full project, but it will keep me busy on my spare time and take some of my spare cash... I just bought me a 272 y block, so i'm planning on getting it runnign, it's just a builder now, then i can find me a truck to put it in and call it my project.

I took a big step with my project yesterday...spent $3K on parts...heads, pistons, and custom ground CAM. I think those are all the major components I need before I can start building the motor so should be getting to that soon as I get the parts. Some don't arrive until mid May.

That sounds like it is going to be awesome! I want to see that done when I get moved back out there!

Not a bad way to start the weekend: high horsepower and new tools.
