Banks Cold Air Kit
Has anyone bought the Banks cold air kit for the 7.3 Diesel, I have a 03.
I saw it on Banks website and was wondering if it is as good as Banks claims. Thought someone here might have it on there trucks. Thanks |
I have it on my 08 6.4. Works great for mine. Good tight seal. Don't know about your application though.

Do you think it was worth the money?

Recently, Testand Corporation conducted an ISO standards test on automotive air filters which can be viewed at this link: http://www.dieselbombers.com/chevrol...r-testing.html. All I can say is this explains in detail the reason for

Nice chevy test...so we are fords? where is the motorcraft one? And yes you will find that is pretty good as well.
Let's take something very, very simple, the 5.4 gas engine. The 5.4 V8 for example if close to stock can only suck in a maximum of 480 cfm (a little thing called physics) and a flat panel filter will flow 500 cfm, there is simply no way any CAI on a relatively stock engine can increase the air flow into the engine, sure their filters may flow up to 900 cfm...so what- the engine simply will not inhale any more than that without forced induction or cam/valve changes (substantial). |
