Bio cetane levels
I was wondering if any of you have had any bio tested for cetane levels? My truck is just amazing the heck out of me right now the way it is running on it. I have a 100 gallon tank in the bed that I filled up 3 weeks ago with a 50-50 mix of soy based commercially made bio and ulsd. It ran just perfect on it. No smoke whatsoever, no clogged filters, more power and much quieter.
Yesterday I was about empty but diesel was at 3.67 so I just got straight B100. My truck is loving it! It only cost me 3 bucks a gallon and I got 140 gallons and that was a huge savings. I was curious what is the cetane level typically at on this stuff? The place making mine has their own press and takes soybeans to diesel all on site. They told me they have used small amounts of tallow too and there is some in this mix but not much. anyway, I just hope they stay in business, I'm one happy customer. When I was filling up yesterday the only comment I had for them was to say that I wish they could make the exhaust smell more like a fancy steak house rather than burger king. But I can live with that!:D |
