Where is the best (lowest price) place to buy a dash pad, good used condition or new?

Found one at Bronco Graveyard new for 300, other places $425 and up. All are said to be made from Ford tool. Probably same people are making them all!

Its a lot of $$$, been thinking about trying one of the toppers myself.

i shouldve went with one of the toppers. but what i did was rip the dashpad out and throw it in the trash, not thinking it would be that big of a deal to get a new one. then after the fact i found out what they go for and boy am i in for it now!

Be patient and check the wrecking yards. I've scored two of them in almost perfect shape, one I got for 30 bucks, the other for $25. (I think the second one may be a repop though...)

always can have someone pull a piece of vinyl over your original . i did this with my dads 68 porsche . came out looking like new

and you can even go on car-part.com, do a search in california and
find a metric asston of stuff. northeast? fat chance. ive contacted every place i could and nobody here has parts older than 10-15 years. when you drive an old truck around you turn heads all the time. some joker tried to sell me a 80 steering column for 125 bucks when i was doing my power steering conversion

Yeah, I hear that a lot. But you know how everyone likes to toss around the phrase, "rust-free California car"? Unless you live in the desert, that's pretty much BS. In the mountains we get snow and salted roads...rust. At the coast we get salt air...rust. In the northern part of the state we get lots of rain and that cars don't dry out all winter long, resulting in...rust.

So, a lot of the vehicles in the local yards here are rust buckets. But for some reason, my two local yards always seem to have an over-abundance of bumpsides and dentsides. Makes for pretty good pickins' for me anyway...


BTW, what's an asston? Reminds me of my last girlfriend...:eek:
