Cant get lines off of the fuel filter
I've got the metal removal tool, I put it in place but the lines don't budge.
I have been messing with this for 3 hours. And I swear I have the hacksaw in my left hand as a last resort. I've read several write-ups on how to do this. Anyone have any tips for me? Thanks, -ruli00 |
Nevermind
I got it. I didn't realize once I got the tool into postion I had to pull the line. I kept pushing the tool into the line. BTW my rough idle is gone :) -ruli00 |
There are two filter line sizes...3/8" and 5/16"...are running change on the production line.

I think the Flex Fuel motors use the part (1038) with the larger diameter (3/8") fuel lines. The other part # (can't remember off the top of my head) is for smaller diameter lines.

Fuel filter for the 5.4l according to the owners manual is the Motorcraft FG-986-B.
It is the same for all three engines 4.2L, 4.6L or 5.4L offered in the '08 Page 380 of the 2008 F-150 Owner Guide 1st Printing (English) |
