1994 E-350 7.5L 460
Howdy,
Have not posted in a looong time. Just got a motor home that is based on a 1994 Ford E-350 7.5L Gas engine. It has 41K miles on it. I just drove it cross Country (well, from Maryland to Sonora, Mexico) and it performed like a champ. Question, now the Vent/AC/Heater blower does not work. When I turn the speed dial nothing happens. It just worked, now it does not. Checked all the fuses and they are a go. Anyone know what to look for? I have seen threads on Vacuum lines, etc but I need Pictures (No Marine jokes please ;-)) for this particular engine. Thanks in advance, Semper Fi |
Is the blower electrical working? Could be one of the actuators for the doors under the dash. Also you might want to visually inspect the lines under the hood. You might get a Haynes manual at your local parts store or on line they have pretty decent pictures. Sorry I could be much more help

Might first start by checking the blower motor relay and the blower motor itself---both frequent causes of no air movement.
Run a suitable large wire directly from the battery to the single post on the blower motor, "bumping" it to see if it runs---if not the motor is bad. From here check the relay located inside the large under-hood box containing numerous relays. This would be an easy start and tends to be the most experienced problems especially considering the age of your van. Hope this helps even a little! |
Where did you check all of the fuses?
Under the hood in the fuse relay box or box in the dash? |
Thanks guys for your responses!
I checked the fuses under the hood and the dash. All were good to go. I am not an electrician by any means so what does "suitable wire" from the battery to the motor mean? What post? + or - Thanks again for your assistance, Semper Fi |
He means a wire large enough to carry the current of the blower motor.
12GA should do from the +(POS) post. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g9...m/1994EFan.jpg http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g9...994EBlower.jpg http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g9...EngineComp.jpg / |

Awesome, thank you so much! Pictures :-)) I will check that out and get back to you all. Very much appreciated! Semper Fi |
Ok, so I took the motor out and hooked it up as described above (after a few attempts) the motor works just fine. It is a Siemens F3UH-19805-AA date: 04-13-94 B
What else could it be? Still nothing when I turn the vent speed knob. Thanks! |
It could be the blower motor relay is bad.
Did you check Fuse "F" in the engine compartment fuse relay box? Engine compartment fuse relay box: http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g9...994EECFuse.jpg 1994 E Blower & Horn Relays, the Blower relay is the one with these wires: 1. Yellow wire with a red stripe. 2. Yellow wire 3. Orange wire with a red stripe. 4. Black wire. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g9...HornRelays.jpg / |
Ok, thanks. Excellent images!!
I found Fuse "F" and it is good to go. Found the relay but do not know how to test it. What part # is it? It is so faded I cannot read anything on it but it has the correct wire description. Thanks! |

I would like to label it for others. Is fuse #9 good in the Interior (dash) fuse panel good? If you ground the Orange wire with a black stripe at the blower motor does the blower motor run? In other words does the Orange wire with a red stripe leaving the blower motor relay have power on it when the key is on and the selector switch is on floor? |
It was the one on the Left. I will check the fuse as well as answer the power/ground question this weekend when I get back. Thanks again for all your help!!

Thanks again for all your help. I replaced the Blower Motor Relay and it all works fine now!! Yaaaay

Hello again!
A friend has a 2000 E-250 Van 3/4T with the 5.4. The AC quit working kind of like it did on my E-350. Any idea where the Blower motor relay for this animal might be? Subford? ;-) Semper Fi |
LH front of engine compartment, in battery junction box.
