Happy Halloween! I am curious what rear your truck is running. Also what is the weight of your trailer, and do you use a slider hitch? What mileage do you get towing on the open road? |

Nice Coachman trailer.
How long is it? Does sit have a slide? How much does it weigh? Matching color too. :) Officially it's a 29 footer, though the overall length with the tongue is just over 33 ft. Yes, it has a 38" deep slide that houses the dinette and a couch. I haven't had it on the scales yet but the claimed unloaded weight is 6300 lbs, with a GVWR of about 7600 lbs.

Very nice Dave. I love the color of it too. The back end, is that an outdoor kitchenette or something?
... and yes it is. One of the primary reasons we went with this model. It makes things soooo much easier. Here's photos of the slide and outdoor kitchen. That's a slide-out gas grill under the left side of the counter. |
Looks great Dave, How do you like the kitchen set up? My wife has been eyeing those with an outside kitchen.

Truck has 4.30 gears, trailer last i weighed it in 08' was right at 10k loaded, i use a b&w hitch with goose neck adaptor, Towing i get 8.5-9.5 depending on me of course. |

Hey guys, anyone pulling loads up to 18K lbs with these 6.2L??? Im looking to pull 2 tractors to tractor pulls this summer and might trade in my 2005 6.0 F-250 (which pulled this load fine) for something like the 6.2L. Anyone tried it out there?

Does that load make your F-250 squat pretty bad or can you get most of the weight on the trailer?

ok thanks. So even though i think the maximum 5th wheel trailer load in the ford book for a single rear wheel 4.30 gear crew cab is only 14,900. Can you push that limit? I obviously did with 05 F-250 pulling 20K lbs of farm equip on a 30 foot gooseneck.
|
I think you can push that limit and truck would pull it but as you know you have to stop all that weight too. Just saying. ;)
|
yeah good point. FORDMDB. isnt that what trailer brakes are for haha!
