4WD shift linkage.
Last year when my front drive shaft went out, it bent and broke my 4WD shift linkage.
The truck is an 87 F250 4WD C6 6.9L diesel. I can't seem to find the shift linkage for sale anywhere. Junkyards, ebay, craigslist, aftermarket stores. Does anybody know where I may be able to purchase this, or have one for sale, or know another term for it I could use to search it. |
i know the stealership has them for mucho dinero. theres was a thread i scene not to long ago with aftermarket ones, do a search, and you will find it.

Let me google that for you And here i used your EXACT thread title in the search section "4wd shift linkage" Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums - Search Results |
Very good, and I did the same. I have been going through these threads and have yet to find anybody linking to a site to purchase one.
Lots of threads on how to lube them, but mine is far past that. |

Hmm. Not sure what catagory he searched under on Rock auto to find it. Also, I don't know what that fancy looking thing in your pictures is, but if that is what he was talking about I don't think that is what I need.
I need the entire linkage from the shifter down to the transfer case. Now that I think about it, my 4wd shifter isn't mounted to anything, I can just pull it up inside the truck. Is it supposed to have some sort of solid pivot mount? If so, I may be in more trouble than I first thought even. I just hate laying in the snow under the truck to put it in 4WD. I'll search around again tomorrow after work. |
If your truck doesnot have that cast aluminum braket, you have the full steel setup and i have no clue how you F*%# that up
|
Well....
I'm assuming it happened at the same time as this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...chmentaspx.jpg |

That looks like a job for some JB Weld...
:-D |
and duct tape. i see a trip to the junk yard in your future.

I've seen drive shafts do some damage after breaking loose but this one takes the prize.
I think a bungee cord is more appropriate in this case.:D If I would have only known, but I gave a linkage away like the one you needed to someone who bought my old M5OD and he probably won't need it. |
Aww )=
Lol, I replaced the transmission and tcase (There was a huge hole in the tcase) and repaired the wiring and body damage. Just woke up to find snow on the ground outside. Hope I don't need my 4WD this morning. |
