Upper console removal

My compass and thermometer are dead in my upper console of my '02 Exp. I have seen the threads on the likely cause of this. The capacitor and resistors coming loose or going bad. I can fix the electronics when I get to them. But, I need to make sure I'm taking the upper console down properly so I don't break anything.

How specifically do I get the upper console down? I see one screw inside the sunglasses compartment. Also, there are two covers that look like screw covers in front of the sunglasses compartment halfway between it and the compass. Do I need to take any screws out or just pull down on the console from the front working back?

I want to be careful as it is still cold here and that makes the plastic more brittle. Thanks for any help.

Thanks. So, it looks like it just pulls straight down?

after you pull the screw then ya pull down to release the clips then down and back to remove

Well, thanks for the help. I finally got this done. Easy as pie to get the console down. I just wanted to wait for the outside temp to get higher so the plastic would not be as brittle.

One of the surface mount resisters had broken loose as referred to in another thread. Got that resoldered and touched up some poor soldering from the factory. The thermometer and compass work great again.
