The news is still coming out but their Facebook site has announced them the winner in their class.

Hell yea now if Ford would win at Nascar an win the manufactures championship from Chevy an the Cup that would be better. An win every major race they enter in all series it would help Ford out a lot.

The Dakar team did it with the new (used) Eco Boost 3.5L v6 too. Nice job Ford.

You must be thinking Baja. The Raptor that Sue Mead and Darren Skilton used in Dakar had the 5.4.

I think the biggest thing they changed was switching from the factory Fox shocks to some aftermarket Kings.

You are correct it was Baja not Dakar. The Eco boost 3.5 was in the SCORE Tecate Baja 1000 in Mexico, then went to teardown with about 160K nasty miles.

I'm so proud of Ford. Foreign companies have dominated the Dakar since it was started in the '70s. It's really awesome to see an American truck tearing across South America and taking the victory.
