Eagle crank and rods vs. stock crank, rods

Is the cost of a new Eagle cast crank $239+ tax and shipping plus Eagle Forged I beam rods $365+ tax and shipping worth buying over using Ford factory crank and rods, how strong is the stock stuff. I would like to put that money toward something else toward my engine but will buy the Eagle set up if i need

I'd stick with the factory crank if you aren't going to stroke it.

How about the stock rods are they strong enough for a performance rebuild

Factory crank and rods are good for around 500hp with no problems, The forged H beams that I had in the 429 build are actually buried in a box somewhere, the 460 in the video is stock 460 crank and rods, around a 1976'ish model.

Figure if you are looking around $400-450ish for the stock rods (shot peen $15 per, ARP bolts $65, resize $20 per, magnaflux $3-5 per, press fit pistons $8-10 per) the $365 for Eagles are the better price, even with S/H, its a better rod, and on top of that its a floating design instead of press fit.

The shop you are using may have better prices and if thats the case you may want to stick with the factory rods, if not, then go with the stock crank and use the eagle rods.

I think i am gonna use the stock crank and get some Eagle rods with SRP pistons, Edelbrock aluminum heads, RPM intake manifold and the FAST #30226-kit, i am minutes from ordering my Xtreme 4x4 262H cam and i think i finally know which way i am gonna go with this motor. Thanks

FWIW factory cranks are good for a lot more than 500. The factory rods are not as good as the cranks.

Eagle cranks (cast steel) are a hell of a lot weaker than the ford cranks.
