Want to make a more efficient Condenser.

Just wondering if anyone has plans to share. I use a "Plumbers Delight". It works, but the vapor coming out when the oil is at 185 or higher is still pretty hot. I think if I can get a more efficient one I should be able to recover more Methanol. (recover about 1-1.5 gallon per batch now)

On a seperate note, I am getting foam toward the end of the distallation process. Is this a seperate issue? At around 185 degrees, I shut off the heat and let the pump continue to circulate the hot oil to get more Methanol out as the oil cools. I am using a GL eco-processor at present, and have tried closing the vacuum valve also, but still got the foam. thinking next batch will shut off the pump and just let it cool with the condensor going...

i have made cooler/condenser(tube in tube) for other fluids, not sure about compatibility with methanol. take compression or pipe Tee, larger outer wall and connect. the end compression fittings, either drill or reem out stop for tubing to allow tubing to slide thru. you can adjust angle of tube to control rate of cooling. i have used water hose flowing around outside to funnel with icewater feeding in with hose bib valve to allow to drip thru. you cna also use to heat fluid. simple and can be fabbed with hose, PVC or metal tubing/pipe.
