Just finished a trip to Disney. 2000 f250 with a 5.4 and a 33’ camper that weighs 11,000 lbs. Pulled it from Rogersville, TN to Orlando and back and averaged 9.2 mpgs for the trip.

Since this post needs a little life. Here is a picture of last weekend's camping trip. I was picking up the first load of wood of the season. It worked out to be just over 1/4 of a cord since it was smaller logs and loose. The seller apologized as he said they had a ton for small rounds to split up. They were 12-14 inch lengths. They were selling the 16-18 stuff for the smaller packs (wood box at the road side). The guy I purchased my wood from is down the road from the campground we are staying at. I used him last year. He said come back next year and he would take care of me. Usually his sons are on the premises and they will stack the wood in the truck. That way I would get closer to a 1/2 cord. However I was on the pile, the wood guy had to split for the afternoon and I was by myself. So there was no way I was going to spend an hour in the beating sun stacking wood in the truck by myself. He said loose it was $60 a bead load. If stacked it would be 80. So that is pretty fair in my book. Nice family that processes and sells the wood. They got nice product and never had an issue burning it. Usually super dry and not smokey either.

I ask because I've got the 03 5.4 & just got a travel trailer and found out my max was 8500 if I remember correctly? I was always under the impression it was 12k untill I actually looked at the towing limit break downs for each truck. Good looking boys by the way! |
