5000lbs in the bed each trip? Or 10,100lbs of coal and truck?

I've been wanting to drive a 6.2 to see how they are. All i hear is good stuff about them. they still make the v10 also right? Or is the 6.2 the only gas motor currently?

The 6.2 is the only gas motor at the time, although Ford is bringing back the 6.8 V10 in 2017. As far as the V8 goes I have no complaints about how mine runs, except gas mileage of course. I don't really do any towing but it runs well when loaded pretty heavily. For how heavy the truck is, it's pretty fast doing 0-60mph in about 8.5 seconds.

The v10 was only taken out of the 2/350 pickups. It has always been a chassis cab option in the 450+ trucks and that is staying the same for 2017. It is not coming back to the pickup

I would have thought the 6.2 would do better then that. What cab setup and how much does your truck weigh? My 08 regular cab 5.4 did 8.5 stock but now does 7.8 with the mods I've done and it does have 35s and a 2" front/rear lift. I figured more power and better transmission would make it a lot faster

2008 F350 0-60 - YouTube

I have an extended cab long bed and the truck weighs around 7000lbs (I can't remember the exact number) with a full heavy duty front bumper. I guess what I was saying was that it was fast compared to other trucks I drive regularly. Mostly mid-2000s chevy 6.0s where I work.

8.5 seconds to 60mph for a 7000#+ truck isn't slow in my opinion and if it is like my 06 V10 standing on the breaks, mashing the skinny pedal and releasing the brakes exactly when the RPMs level out in 4x4 will take a good second off the 0-60 time. }> the electronic throttle control is a little slow to give full power off the line without a tuner.

There is definitely nothing wrong with a 8-9 second 0-60. You will never have an issue merging into the highway. My v10 excursion did it in 13 so high 7's seems like a rocketship lol

Hay wagon full of firewood. Did 20 miles on the highway with that damn thing that day. Next year I'm borrowing a trailer because that was a thoroughly unenjoyable experience.
