those 5.38s must make that jeep a dog. My buddies 90 Ford F350 crew 4x4 has 5.13 gears with a LS locker and that thing takes forever to get to any speed even being an auto. The biggest gears I have driven is a 4.10 and that is in our 89 F250 4x4.

actually with those 5.38 gears i bet is a real mover.
until you reach the 45 mph top speed. :D

Honestly, it's really not that bad and will still go 65+ on the highway with no problem. I'm turning some RPM's at that point but it'll still doable. I just spend a whole lot more time in 4th/5th gear than I used to :D. The 5.38's pair nicely with 37" tires (in that jeep anyway).

It's mostly a trail vehicle now with the occasional weekend errand run. The crawl speed on the trail is AWESOME!

That's the same thing we use our 84 B2 for but with the clutch being out and low funds for it just sits. That thing is fun to drive but I wish it had a small lift so it could run the tire size it was running before right now the rear has 235 75 R15s and the front has 225 60 R16 and I hate it. I guess I shouldn't have replaced the fenders. But I think part of the reason it isn't right is how it lined up I think we need fix it but not sure yet.

Where in MI are you toting it to? Mine is up in Custer at Whiskey Creek Campground. We have a seasonal complete with Tiki Bar... It's a little east of Pentwater / Silver Lake if you want to stop by. :-drink

Finally got to put the new machine to use.............. 4 yards of mulch and 2 packed in beds like this of wood chips from hurricane Sandys remnants. Wife caught the edge of the bed right above the taillight with the pitchfork.................at least the first scratch is over with.:(

And got the trailer hooked up and ready to go for our first camping trip of the season this year. Heading out late moring tomorrow and can't wait to tow the trailer with the new truck. There was supposed to be a golf cart coming along, but I just couldn't find the time to go get it, so it'll have to wait til next trip. I have a Jeep that aslo belongs on the trailer, but it's broke (again) and stuck in the garage still. Sorry for the pics, I seem to be the king of horrible lighting and bad backgrounds.

Obviously not my truck and a crappy cellphone picture to boot, but I saw this F250 on the road today. It's tough to read, but it's a Dept. of Homeland Security vehicle that says 'Explosives Detection K-9 Team" on the back:

That's quite the camping setup, the first ding always sucks.
