Good call Shaun. Those giant stores are a pain. Whenever I need to go to a new aisle in Lowe's I walk up and down and try to memorize what's around. I'm getting a lot more efficient, which results in less $500+ impulse purchases hah.

Correct Gary. 1987 Mercury Colony Park LS. Been one of my dream cars since I went with my uncle to take delivery of that red/white F150 when I was 3.

Plan is 302 block, AFR heads and intake, custom cam, exhaust somewhere above 2in into magna flow cats and a good muffler. Charlie recommends Super 40's. I like the Borla products too. Goal is a DD wagon pushing 30mpg. Class is about 1mile to the highway, 13mi highway, less than a mile to the parking garage. Other than that I drive to Virginia Tech for football about 8x per year, beach 2-3, and a couple day trips. Probably sticking with a 3.08 for DD, may keep a 2.73 to throw in for big trips. For my around town driving the county grew in such a way I can use <55mph back roads to get within a mile of about anything. Some days I never see a red light. With 16mpg in the truck I'm optimistic about 20's around town in this setup.

Summit sells a Borg 6spd built for $2k. last two gears are .80 and .62. I've driven a box with a same length T5 in it, and the shifter is sublime. I could row 2-4 with my arm on the rest.

Sounds like a fun project. As for Dad, he's not doing too well. He got angry last week and pushed an orderly. Overall he's agitated and, while usually friendly, tries to get out 10 or more times a day. Given all that they required that he be given some medication that tones him down a bit. Toward that end he's now being tested on several med's, one at a time, to determine what will do the trick.

I don't envy you. Luckily my grandmother was a docile sort, not the proud man sort. Aricept, Namenda, Xanax helped tremendously.

Very excited about the project. I'm a big guy, need a big comfortable car. And one of the American classics IMO.

As for my truck: put it to work, gassed up, checked all fluids and they were pleasantly fine. I also cleaned the bed, swept, soaped, and wax for the first time since I bought it. I may take a picture tomorrow.

And thankfully no, at least not for a few decades. My mugshots out there. I'm shaped like a combination of Jack Lalanne and Gossamer. Wear a 36x30 pant. But I'm 6'2", nearly 60in at the shoulders, 19in neck, big old head, etc etc. Most import car bucket seats poke me in the bottom of the shoulder blade. The truck seat is room, but I smack my head into the roof like Harry and the Hendersons over speed bumps.

My powerwasher went rogue while I was hauling it in the back of my Dodge yesterday. I had a ladder back there that was keeping it in place,but,I dropped it off at a job and wasnt thinking because I was in a hurry. The power washer came barreling towards the cab and smashed the back glass out of it. I was mad as all get out. However, it was my own stupid fault for not tieing it down so I got over my madness. In all seriousness, Bruno, that plain sucks. I'm sorry your back glass got knocked out. On the bright side, the new glass will be nice and clear!

I wish a rock would kick up from a big truck and bust my truck's windshield. I need a new one. Insurance is enough of a racket so they shouldn't have any problems getting me a new windshield one day. }>

Put the truck through the paces again today. Dropped about 20 small trees. Say 40ft and under, less than 12in across. Managed to get it out in two loads. I hardly ever drive with the lights on, but it was raining when I got to the dump. Thought she looked almost pretty. And then a video just for '83 }>

I "was" carrying commercial insurance on all my vehicle. I called my agent about the glass coverage and he replied that there was none. The ins acts the same as any other claim where have to meet your deductible. So I asked him " you mean I have been paying more and getting less coverage and benefits?". He replied yes. So I told him I would be changing that immediately.

Tightened all the loose lug nuts on the back end of my truck, and cured that mysterious thunking that's been bothering me the last couple of days. :-X15
