What is the most trustfull website to buy HIDs for my 09 Expedition.

Everyone tells me to buy them online but i don't trust many of the sites. If anyone has a good recommended site please let me know.

I just purchased some 4" aux HID lights to mount on my bull bar..

www.hidxlights.com

Personally I would not try to retrofit HID for the OEM housing.

HID replacement sites

HID Kits - Xenon Kit - Car Lights
bought the 4300K Philips kit - it looks great - very bright and great visibility. Here is the actual kit.
Philips HID Kit 4300K or 6000K [Philips Brand]
had a local shop put them in (because I am not that talented)
good luck

How long have you had the Philips kit on the truck?

Any problems with heat or the motors for the high beams?

I think a lot of guys on here are using the kits from ddmtuning and they are like $50-$70. that 270 seems high. Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are trying to do. Thanks, Mike

I have not had any heat problems with these lights. I chose the Philips kit because all the reviews I read said to stick with the best quality kits. I had a cheaper brand on and ended up taking them out due to connector problems and issues with the high beam (it used a standard halogen bulb for the high beam - the Philips kit uses the same hid bulb and moves the bulb in the housing).
I am happy with these lights and have used them for about six months without any problems.

I bought a 4300K H13 Xtreme HID Kit from www.KBCarstuff.com (Canadian Company...) for about $269...it was super easy to install as it was all plug and play. You have to mount the ballasts and relays to the truck, but it was easy with a drill and some metal screws (which don't happen to come with the kits.)

At first, I was stoked with the lights in the city, but once out on the HWY it was another matter. I wasn't happy with the light out-put and beam pattern, but that might be due to the fact that they are not sitting in the proper position within the assembly. Also, the light is very "washed" out in the distance and to the sides.... I think this is due to the fact that the reflectors are not designed for this bulb... I have invested more $$$ into my safety and have purchased a set of Halo Projector Headlights that will be intalled next week...

As I spend a lot of time driving at night, I also put a brush guard on the front with 4 Lightforce 170 Strikers! They turn night into day! Well worth the $$$!

You make a good point about the light pattern. I am not happy with the way the beams project in front either. Let me know if your projectors work to your satisfaction. I would like to see a picture of your brushguard and lights. I put a Westin Bull Bar on mine with PIAA Cross Country HID lights on it. The light output is fine but they look too small for the truck.

thanks and good luck with the projectors

I'm trying to get to the 25 post mark so that I can add some pics to my posts... in the meantime, you can check out my gallery section:

I hope the link works! As soon as the projectors are in I will post some pics here.

Cheers!
