Monster TRUCK!

Hey! I got a 2000 F350 with a 32" lift. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Michelin XZL 53's. I have a set of Dick Cepek DC-1's that i would like to mount them on. Has anyone done this or seen this done? The tire shops around here are telling me that it will be nearly impossible to mount that tire on a drop center wheel.

dew the thunder 05-27-2008 02:16 PM

dude... you have to post pictures of that beast...

03_PSD 05-27-2008 02:21 PM

wow....32 INCH LIFT...Please post some pics of that beast!!!

Imondi 05-27-2008 02:34 PM

The only pictures I have are with the 24" lift. This is before I did the 8" hanger lift to fit the 53's.

Nice looking truck

03_PSD 05-27-2008 02:56 PM

looks good, but man I bet that gas bill is crazy. is that just for show truck?

Edit: Where are my mannars Welcome to FTE!! :-headbang

Imondi 05-27-2008 03:02 PM

haha thanks to everyone for the comments! and believe it or not, the gas bill isn't as bad as you would think. It gets around 14mpg, which is in no way good, but for a truck that size i can't complain!

I will get more pics up when we finish the rest of the lift.

03_PSD 05-27-2008 03:08 PM

tell us more about the truck. MPG don't seem all that bad.

mongo75 05-27-2008 03:28 PM

Dude, you get better mpg than I do!!

shore 05-27-2008 03:38 PM

I like your truck. Do you have any trouble with law enforcement (ride height) or is it just an offroad truck? Around here the State Patrol would have their
tape measures out right away for that. :-jammin

I know, I love it to death when someone complains of getting 14-18 mpg and I'm having to deal with 12.8 consistantly(and some of that is highway miles empty at 2k on the tach.).

FarmingFord 05-27-2008 07:19 PM

Now that is a TRUCK! Nice set of tires you got there. :-jammin
Can't wait to see more pictures of it. Welcome to FTE. I just joined myself and I love it.:-headbang

ATC Crazy 05-27-2008 09:44 PM

I'm not fond of big lifts...but you have a very nice looking truck. Any pictures of the suspension? I'm curious as to how safe (if at all) it is.

You drive it on the street?

weekendwarriorfsw32 05-27-2008 09:49 PM

bmvtr 05-27-2008 10:47 PM

How do you have original running gear turning those tires?

chrono4 05-27-2008 10:50 PM

got a good shot from the front? That steering looks pretty interesting, I see a S thing going on....

dew the thunder 05-27-2008 11:28 PM

Man... I'm lucky to clear 10.5 mpg on a good day... I would incredibly happy with your 14 lol.

mstiles19 05-27-2008 11:47 PM

nice truck. it definatly looks tough......but is it actually built to take some real abuse?

Mnytalks1 05-28-2008 05:33 AM

Sweet truck, your gas mileage is better then mine.:-jammin

kenneBF250V10 05-28-2008 06:25 AM

Is that thing street legal?

Imondi 05-28-2008 09:20 AM

Thanks alot for all of the comments on the truck!

Actually, the truck is my daily driver. It is the only vehicle I own so it goes everywhere. As for legallity issues, the only law we have in Colorado is the headlight height. I only run the driving lights on the bottom at night and I have had many cops tell me that works fine. There are several other big trucks around here that don't even do that and have no problem with the law.

I actually did not design the steering. It is a switchback system that requires you to flip the bottom drag link on the stock steering system. When I first got it back, the steering system worked terribly. However, I turned the Panyard bar around and ran it parallel to the bottom switchback and the thing handles like a stock truck! I have done some wheeling with it and it stood up to the challenge pretty easily!

Wow what a monster.

chrono4 05-28-2008 12:28 PM

So what gears do you have with these tires?

cartmanea 05-28-2008 01:47 PM

Are you doing a brake upgrade after the larger wheels go on? Doesn't seem safe to be running that size components with stock axles and brakes...

Truckin4life 05-28-2008 05:18 PM

intresting... ... ... btw welcometo fte!!!!

TP83 05-28-2008 06:42 PM

looks sick, what gears are you running?

Greywolf 05-28-2008 06:53 PM

YAYZUSS KROIST......

"Wears pretty well on the street..."

If that's your daily driver I hope you own stock in major oil!

THIS guy gets my rep points for dang sure....

hahaha...this thing looks goofy with the stock axles they are so small. He said he did some wheeling with it but i seriously doubt it with stock axles and those size tires.
