Morning BS'rs!

Well we're bidding for Fort Wayne's all time HIGH temp today...we tied it last week at 106° and they believe we may break it today...I really don't want to break that record!

Then tomorrow we may break another record...we've never had 4 straight days of 100°...tomorrow will be that 4th day...oh joy...another one I don't want to break!

Who moved me to Arizona when i wasn't looking?

Oh yeah...has anyone heard about this so-called virus that is going to shut down computers come Monday?...my local news did a story on it last night...I guess you can scan your computer at DCWG | DNS Changer Working Group you may want to check it out...I scanned all of my computers and they were clean...thankfully...

Hope everyone enjoys their Friday!

Joe.

The good news is that we'll be back to "normal" tomorrow with mid-80's...is it sick that sounds good to me?...

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Joe.

I'm glad that you have pointed that out Dave.

Joe you can run down to the store and get some ice to cool the beer.
Some people can't.

The lack of IEDs and bullets flying makes our life here in the continental USA a bit easier too!
Thanks for serving everyone.
I hope you come home soon!

:-wink Hello from Afghanistan.

I'm in a quiet corner of the country, so much so that the U.S. is moving out of this little base.

Although that has some occupants neverous.

As the base gets smaller there might be some 'celebratory' in-comming as a send off.

It's also 'that' time of year by the local's calander to remind us all...

Extreme heat & cold don't bother me much.

When I worked commercial nuclear power I wore canvas 'duck' Carhartt long sleeve shirts and double-patched pants. The hottest room there in the Summer hovered between 130 & 140 at the low ceiling. Had to wear leather gloves just to comfortably hold onto the handrails of the staircase. Guys used to sweat just looking at me, but actually all that cotton helped with evaporative cooling.

Here, I'm fortunate to work the night shift within an air conditioned tent.
Though sleeping during the day is a bit uncomfortable because the A/C can't keep up against the afternoon sun. There is a chart that delineates rest breaks versus level of activity for given temperature brackets and necessary water intake over time. As you can imagine for the guys toiling out in the sun, eventually it gets to almost all break & little work.

With the drawdown of troops over here there is a commensurate reduction in need for contractor support.

There's some work down in Antarctica - - - that's one way to stay cool :-X16
I'll give it a try if they'll take me. As you see in my signature, I was a diver in the Navy so I do tolerate the cold a bit better than others. My first working dive as a sailor was underneath harbor ice in January. I also preferred recreational diving in the winter (Connecticut) because the ocean visibility was much improved due to the die off of the plankton.

Not at this location.

There are places that are set up to get satellite broadcast from the American Forces Network. Over here it originates from Germany.

My network is corporate and throttled over wifi, no video streaming between 8am & 8pm.
Trying to watch a corporate training video outside those hours is just less choppy.
