I haven't seen this one for several years now! Wasn't it originally yellow with orange flames?

Always this color scheme

Very nice!

I've done nada to or for the truck today. Instead, I went to the Leake Auction in Tulsa. Thought I might see some interesting vehicles in the hundreds of vehicles being auctioned, and I was right. But the surprising thing was the very limited number of 80 - 86 Ford trucks. In fact, there was only one, an 86 Bronco, it wasn't in good shape. :-down

Here's the breakdown of trucks that I found:
  • Ford Trucks: one each 36; 50; 52; 72, 73 & 76 little Broncos; 67 F100; 86 Bronco; 90 F250; 95 F250
  • Chevys: Tons. Too many to count.
  • Dodge: One 1970 in Lime Green w/a 440 giving only 500 HP. }>
So, what does that say about us or our trucks? :-hair

The few... the proud!

There aren't many 1980-1981's left. :(

David - The Bronco wasn't very proud. The driver's fender was poor and the paint looked like appliance paint with runs.

Shaun - I know of three, your one and my two. Oh yeah, there's Chris and Critter. Gee, they oughta be worth a bunch!

I've only seen maybe 12 or 13 locally. I haven't really counted the 82-86 trucks, but I see many more of those than the 80-81's.

There are A TON of 1965-1995 F series trucks around here. When the gas prices drop a little, I see at least 2 60's-80's F series trucks every time I go somewhere. There's a grey 1982-1986 4x4 F350 crew cab that lives down the street from me, as well.

There are quite a few older F series around here. It's a lot easier to keep older vehicles on the road here in the North West where we keep the salt off the roads and leave it in the ocean.

Took truck for a drive and my son says "dad, i smell gas". Popped the hood to find the float had stuck and fuel was coming out of the bowl. Glad i got and old truck I can work on in a parking lot with a screwdriver and socket set.

That fits quite well with a conversation I had with a guy at the auction today. He sells classic cars in Dallas and we talked about the kind of folks that seem to be buying them - for the most part people who don't have a clue how to fix them. And that's on ones, like our trucks, that are quite simple in comparison to newer cars.

Replaced my master cylinder today. I knew it was failing, but I noticed it leaking today. Got a NEW one on there now!

I painted the brake booster, bench bled the master (used the syringe method, worked great) bled it on the truck, bled the brakes. Topped it off and took it for a test drive. All is good and it stops good.
