Might as well! Every where I looked said it was fairly easy and Haynes manual went pretty good on details so. ..we will see! Lol

Gary, You're going to put 500/500 to a chain driven NP transfer case? {BSEG}

Not to hijack the thread again, but yes and no. I will have an engine capable of laying down 500+ ft-lbs, but only when I mash the throttle. And that's not likely in 4WD, and certainly not on pavement. IOW, there's no way it'll be asked to transfer that much torque. At least not until it gets handed down, and then I hope I will have instilled in my offspring that they should not do that and, if they do, DO NOT TELL ME! ;)

ArdWrknTrk 08-19-2014 04:52 PM

Who is going to tell you, -then-???

There is no faster way off the line than all 4 spinning (well, if all four are NOT spinning and just hook up)

I have asked many times how you are going to get it to the ground.
You obviously have FAR more restraint than me!
But then I blew the yoke off a '64 Dart wagon with a slant six...

I guess you don't have to worry TOO much about the dyno runs, but how do you intend to use that wideband for tuning unless you are doing full throttle loaded climbs?

Jim - I really want to reply, but don't want to hijack the thread. I've thought of going with an NP205. Should I pose the question in Dad's thread?

I could use better pictures than the manual has. Do it please.

Yup, and an new post in the old ZF thread has been added.

Dylan - If you need info from the factory shop manual on the t-case rebuild I could provide it.

I'd love them since I'm kinda going in blind, well YouTube blind lol.

I'll look at the zf thread.

I need to use the computer and upload pics.

My steering gear is being a little lady about coming off of my pitman arm or tie rod.
I gave up and went in for the night.

You can feel free to hijack it, however it will be cleaner for other people to read through steadily.

You're not hitting the side of the pitman arm collar hard enough.
Try 3# hammer and get a good swing at it.

When in doubt, apply percussive maintenance?

Put some pressure on with the puller.
Smack the side at the splines.
POP! off it comes.
This method has never failed me.

Well I gotta find another tranny. The one I was getting is garbage.
Gotta find a new one now.
