Both of my 79 F350 4x4 SC camper specials have re-tractors in the rear cab.

Seat belt answer

First post here. I have a 76 f150 SC ranger xlt with a 390 paired to a c6. It was my grandfathers truck and has 65k original miles. It’s been in a shop it’s entire life and I’m fixing to pull her out and get her running.
Anyway, It for sure has 3 belts in the back. 2 retracting and 1 non retracting in the middle. I’m pulling it out this weekend and I’ll post some pics when I get it cleaned up.

With all the prior posts citing different seatbelts for some of the same year model SuperCabs, it would seem there was a "deluxe" seatbelt option of some sort. Or maybe it depended on which state the truck was destined for? Perhaps some states had stricter seat belt laws back then?

Since I just finished this last week......

removed the factory jump seats and installed a 90’s bench. Thanks to Scott79 for the inspiration.

1976 f150 sc trailer special

The start of project
picking it up the 9th of june

Thanks guys...I think I had the rear seat in and out about 10 times measuring and locating it.

You can't tell from the pic but everything is custom...

I can't stand seeing the metal backing for the seat back stick up higher than the cushion, so I removed the seat, trimmed the seat backing, riveted back together in a couple spots, reinstalled the cushion.

This helped me to get rid of an eyesore but also allowed me to install the seat back up about 1.5" higher than stock. This then enabled me to install the seat bottom up 1.5" higher which gives quite a bit more leg room than stock location.

I was looking into those "hi rider" kits but they move the seat forward and up to avoid the factory rub rail. I was not interested in losing the foot room for the rear passengers.

Since the passengers are my kids, I also installed the rear shoulder mount for the three point lower and back as far as reasonably possible. This will help to keep the strap on their shoulder and away from their neck.

The seat belt kits are from Wesco Performance. Good prices for what you get IMO.

I tried to use the factory ford belts out of the OBS supercab the seat came from, but the retractor mechanism was too bulky....plus the belts were red and I wanted everything to be black to match the front belts.

The sound deadening is FATMAT and I like it...it's worth the money and time to install it.

I have 4 kids and with 2 full bench seats we all fit just fine....we took our maiden family voyage about 2 weeks ago.

Ready for trips to Lowes now. :)

I'm guessing that Ford was only half-ready to move to front three-point belts in 1976 (when my truck was built) as I have the slot in the rear seat side panel below the front edge of the window, but no mount up high on the B pillar for the pivot point.
