i have 3 5 acre lots around a warehouse.
back drag the loading docks, and push everything away from the building.
another truck does the car parking lots, and then 2 other trucks do building 7 which encompass 20 acres of blacktop.
i can do the 3 lots myself because they always have trailers in them so i only plow around 10 acres.
first snow was good for 16 hours, the 8 inch storm took me 24 hours to clean, the last 3 incher was for 18 hours.
the second storm i only got 16 hours before i sheared an angle piston bolt, bent the piston, and sheared off the hydraulic fitting and emptied the oil tank.
i have another $3300 due for what was done so far.
i would like to get another storm or 2, i could use the money.

I ended up being out for 18hrs Tuesday. I was a little beat up to say the least and I'm half your age! Lol

i am still hurting from monday Todd.
neck and arms.
the neck is getting a little better, and the arms now only feel like there are 200 lb weights strapped to my wrists.

i think the next project is to figure out how to put hydraulic steering run off a joystick and push button trans shifter so i don't have to constantly turn the steering wheel and reach over to shift between forward and reverse, and a monitor with video cameras on the back to see what i am backing into.

That would make it much easier for sure. I have to plow with a pillow in the small of my back. The 08 has chit for lumbar support.

Man, that sounds brutal for you guys. I always thought plowing was just sitting in the warmth of a truck and moving snow. It puts a more proper perspective on it for sure.

well, municipal roads are easy just go forward. lots are a different deal and much more of a challenge.

I know.. But... The crazy thing is he'll probably get it.. I just watched a clean 97 w 80k-ish on it go for 23k on ebay

Apartment complexes are the worst to plow. People coming and going, parked cars, pedestrians, etc. I was pushing yesterday and caught some compacted snow and ice. Picked the front end up and spit it sideways. Still not sure how I didn't smack a car. It's a lot more work than your think. Not to mention you're usually roasting. I plow with the dang window down.

I dunno if I've ever seen your truck... Can u link a thread w some pics?

I layed over yesterday to give a small on coming car more room. Got sucked off the rode down a 6 foot drop into a swamp. First time I've ever had this truck stuck in the 6 years I've owned it. The snow was about 4 ft deep. It took an hour and half to get it pulled up back on the road.

I've had enough of this winter. We are only 4" away from having the snowiest winter on record in my area.

Geesh... I wouldn't pay that much for a 50,000 mile Excursion! And they only made the 7.3s for 3 years!

I guess they only made OBS 7.3s for 4 years...

You get my point lol

I love the look of the Five-seven. I looked at buying one, but decided it wasn't practical and went with the X-40. I would still love to have one though. FN makes a good pistol.
