Is that the terminal on the starter solenoid mounted on the passenger fenderwell? I haven't had to touch the alternator yet, so I'm unfamiliar with how it's setup on the truck.

Nope. That would get voltage only during cranking.

The "S" terminal is on the back of the alternator. I has either a terminal post (with a nut and star washer) or a plug connector. The alternator housing is normally cast with the terminal designations.

Using the S terminal is easiest... abotu 18 inches of wire and a terminal connector. It'll be the best 10 minutes spent towards your truck's driveability. GO FOR IT.

Sweet. Can definitely do that. Unfortunately, the PO disconnected ALL the choke hardware (no clue why!!), so the linkages and stuff are WAY out of whack. Meaning, of course, that I have to try and figure out how it's supposed to be setup. (I'm also assuming the electric choke is still actually good...and with the previous owner, assuming can be deadly!)

Also - for the ground on the E-choke, I can just put a short little wire to one of the carb -> manfold bolts, yes? (Asking because I already ran one!)

I got my Tranny cleaned and the 1st coat of "dark ford blue" paint on it, I also got the doors stripped down and ready to go to the painter. I found that my vent window frames was somewhat rusty so I guess I am now looking for a couple rust free vent window frames.

That ground point will work. Heck , if there is a useable screw on the carb then use that since the carb is grounded by its mounting bolts.

Yessiree... POs are notorious for doing "repairs" that makes me wonder why they even bothered. My take is "Don't be one of those POs that FTE members bad-mouth if ever you sell your Dent". Journeyman workmanship adds value to your truck!!

To keep inline with this thread, I filled up my gas tank and took the F-Bomb for a short drive... it definitely needs an alignment.

I tore down my 76 highboy. Only thing left is the chasis with engine and tranny. Trying to decide what to do with them. I have a fe block with a NP 4 speed. Not sure which motor it is the only id I can find is a 352 on the front of the block.

few months worth of mods

hey guys sorta new here at posting on FTE.. but wanted yall to check out what ive been up to these past few months. got about 50mi's on her after break in and boy does she sound mean. was rebuilt by previous owner 30k miles ago with unknown specs other than from 351m to 400. but doing my mods i noticed that he had aftermarket upgrades (cam, pistons) but lifter went bad on me and inspection told me it was my cam :( stock exhaust broke in half too all in same week.. and on top of that exhaust manifold bolt broke along with easy out.. so this is what drove me to these :)

MOTOR MODS: swapped in 2178 edlebrock cam, dual roller timing chain cover, cyl heads checked for flaws minor port/polish cleaning.. hardened valve seats(d5ae a2a heads), lifters, springs, flowtech long tube headers 32" x 1 5/8" into 2 1/4" flowmaster pipes/mufflers..

INTERIOR MODS: custom gauge cluster, GT grant wheel, roll on bedlinered the floor boards/under seat.

check out pics in my garage :) i cant figure out how to load pictures into posts

MORE MODS TO COME!
