Thanks for the advice Tom. I think the owner would tend to be more receptive to the barter approach. I did offer him a set cash amount to ‘forage’ the truck but never heard back and I am only able to catch him intermittently when he’s at the place. It’s abandoned and overgrown with an assortment of vehicles in various states of decay. Here’s the drivers side. Maybe I’ll see him this spring and try again. |

At a salvage yard a couple hours from me in Iowa https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...01638beb6.jpeg It’s sitting on a modern (S-10?) frame with an automatic transmission. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...264b9725d.jpeg I inquired about the bed on this truck before I found one in Missouri from a ‘48 F-2. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...b795cc0f3.jpeg The gentleman I bought my F-3 from was a Ford man thru and thru. He built his own museum on his farm and had plenty of trucks on the property, including The Gladiator. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...6666eaa1f.jpeg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...4b0db515f.jpeg Some bar or man cave has the nose of this F-3 https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...280ea7cdc.jpeg Same with this F-2. There’s a couple more F-2/3s out here somewhere. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...4a802537f.jpeg Almost forgot this one. Same salvage yard. Might need some frame straightening. |

Found it while renovating the house
or, going to fix it as soon as I have the garage built and the other things my wife wants done |
So why would those monkeyfaces have the front ends clipped the way they are?

Where at in Eastern Iowa is this salvage yard located? I'm in need of a F2 tailgate, and eastern Iowa isn't too far from Eastern Nebraska...

Please try to avoid quoting posts that contain multiple pictures so they don't just repeat.

Not sure why you sent me the admonition to avoid quotinting posts that contain multiple pictures, since I started the thread, and it was then hijacked by a large number of people. No repeats under my watch!

Hey there. I have been by this place a million times and wondered what is up with all the cars and the owner. I have never had a chance to catch somebody there and ask them the story. I would be more interested in some parts from the dent side. Good to see another member from the Solon area. Maybe when the weather is a little nicer we could meet up and go for a cruise or a beer?
