When trying to find a box, your best bet is definitely taking several measurements and find one that is just slightly smaller.
I like the chest style tool boxes. I had a aluminum diamond plate box like Bill's before. I now have a black Rawson Koenig like this. You can barely see it in this picture. I think it looks great! http://www.rki-us.com/images/uploads/M60-1NM-.jpg http://www.rki-us.com/images/uploads/M54U-1NMB.jpg https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...id=224904&.jpg |

Oh and holy crap it took FOREVER to get through all 400+ pages, but some of you guys have absolutely beautiful trucks, and are incredibly helpful from what I have seen thus far. I am so glad I found this site... pretty much a one stop shop for all of my F150 needs. I'm not just a newb to the site either... I am still learning about my truck and my options. Expect a billion questions to start coming in from my end. :-tap

http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...R1-044-20A.jpg Question about the booth. I am in the middle of drywalling my shop so I have fresh walls again to start with. I have seen the lights in paint booths both horizontal and vertical. What are the advantages/downfalls to each way? |
I personally can't say for sure... but I remember asking my drafting teacher back in middle school why the flourescent lights in our classroom were laid diagonally across the ceiling as opposed to side to side like every other room in the school, and he said it was because that way they didn't cast as many shadows on our work. Perhaps having them vertically in a booth would provide a similar effect. I mean the light is clearly alot closer and alot more powerful so I could just be talking a bunch of crap, but it seems to make sense to me. I would go for perhaps doing them angled and you get the best of both worlds !!! :-X07

If you don't have a moveable light source, you want to have enough lights to shine on every angle and not have any shadows. If all you we're doing were flat surfaces, it wouldn't matter as much.

There are a lot of nice looking trucks in here. Here's my '95 F-150, 302, AODE, MSD ignition coil, Flowmaster cat back dual exhaust system. She's a work truck and work she does!

Here's mine again. I put on the new bodyside molding and emblems last week and put the spash guards on Sunday night (one of my Christmas gifts). I still need to put my wagon wheels and snow tires on.

old #10
Ive lurked and searched this forum long enough. I need show my old truck. Its an old park district plow and salt truck from up around Chicago. Lowish kind of miles(90000) but the body is not good and bed is rotted from the inside out. Heres some pics... I think

Truck looks solid to me. Lots of character. I like it.
|
Thanks!
Yeah, it doesnt look to bad, but there is no floor left inside the bed, I have a 4x8 sheet of floor grating bolted in it with a bed mat over that. Also the wheel wells in the bed are rotted through. Not worth saving to me. Nothing left of the driver side floor in the cab, that got fixed. The cab corners are starting to go, so I will be on that in the spring. New front bumper and fenders are cheap, new ones of those in the spring.

As long as the frames not rusted through looks like a great project. Plus its red. Cant beat that.
|
Frame is good!
Its just to good of an old truck to get rid of. It needs some work mechanically too, but I feel the 5.8 has alot of life left in it.
