I bought my 77 F-150 in 1991 for a "daily driver" and to use at the sand dunes at Silver Lake Mi. (total purchase price $1800) At that time it was all stock except for 31" tires and black wagon wheels. One of the first things I did was to rebuild the 400 cu. in. that was in it. (after 75,000 miles of farm life it was time!) Over the next 11 years from 1991 to 2002 I had patched the original "Michigan" cab bought a used box from Texas, repainted it, added 3" lift, 33"tires and many other upgrades and modifications. In the fall of 2002 I wanted to replace the cab and box as the original sheet metal had vanished before my very eyes. I sat out on a mission to find a "rust free" cab for not much cash. I soon found that there is no such thing in Michigan, or so I thought! Long story short, I found a whole "RUST FREE" 2WD 77 truck from Georgia with a blown 302 engine for $300, about 15 miles away from my house. A guy bought it and drove it back to Michigan, 2 months later the engine blew up and it sat in his driveway for 3 years. I dissassembled my truck and discarded the oem body part's. Sand blasted and painted the frame gloss black, both front and rear axle's were rebuilt, both drive shafts were rebuilt, new stainless brake lines and all new brake componets, 460 cu.in. engine (conversion completed in 1999) was punched .030 and rebuilt (see gallery for spec's), a nitrous oxide "cheeter" system was added,and the transmission was rebuilt. The donor truck was then dissassembled and repainted to my trucks original color "poly jade green" inside and out, body was wet sanded 3 times finishing with 2000 grit paper (all sheet metal is original Ford parts from donor truck). Floor boards and under side were painted with POR-15, all new weather seals , new carpet, "Ford Motorsport" autometer gauges, stock tilt steering and locking remote hood release from a Bronco, and high energy suspension body mounts were used. I have added all additonal wires to stock wire harness (wires to MSD ignition, electric fuel pump, nitrous oxide, stereo amp, etc...) to retain the stock look under the hood. I finished the restoration in June of 2003 and have been enjoying the "rewards" every day. The truck rides and drives like a new one and performs better than expected! I still have a few items left to do before it's totally finished, like mounting the recaro buckets and cage inside, rhino lining the box just to mention a few. I enjoyed this project and the finished product sooo much I have bought a twin truck to begin restoration #2.

Well Is Is On The Road And Had Its First Run Through The Bush All Without Ant Issues, Amazing Job With All The Help From My Good Buddy Greg And His Mechanic "wrench". It Couldn't Have Been Done Without Them. I just put a finished album in my galleries. I have waited a long time for this day. It has been just over 3 1/2 years since I bought it. In that time, I converted it to 4wd using a mix of 150 and 250 parts, fixed a lot of stuff that was bad, like brakes, clutch, hoses... and did some cool stuff too. I put swampers on it, had to cut my own drivelines down, rebuilt the tranny and transfer case, made some heavy duty hardware. It is all in my galleries. I hope to one day get all the chrome on, put in a stereo, and make some more stuff for it, like a headache rack, heavy duty steps, and a winch bumper for up front. I don't know if a V8 will ever reside up front since I am pretty impressed with the amount of power that a hopped up 6 has :-D

Ok winter is descending upon us here in Mont. so I can put down the wrenches and pick up the keyboard again. At long last I have completed swapping out my 400/NP435 for a totally built 460 backed up by ZF 5 speed. All thats left to do on the Blue Whale now is some detail work on the interior and a new paint job. All the details are in my gallery for those who are interested.

Love that song. Hate to say I have "finished" my 74 F250 cause I think of it as a work in progress. But she is on the road lookin pretty good and behaving herself. This was a frame off resto, almost everything has been rebuilt or replaced. I have pics in my gallery that I just set up so check it out!

its at least all one color again. future upgrades include replacing the tired million mile 370 with a built 460 4v I have a 2-sp axle but I havent decided if I want to swap them or not yet. the current rear end has 6:14 gears, limiting top speed to about 70. I can start out in 3rd unloaded from stoplights. 4:88s would be better I think. 1992-97 XLT 40/20/40 seats front and rear are another future modification. eventually it will also get a pickup bed...

my 79 F150 is completely restored also....1979 f150 custom, 400, auto, chrome trim.
I simply couldn't part with $35000 for a new truck that's the same as everyone elses... Plus, this one won't go down in value every year. I just wish we has some offroad hills and a few more "legal" trails here in Long Island NY.

i finally got a few more pics posted of the supercab conversion. i did'nt get as many progress pics as i would have liked. next time i'll have to hire someone to take pics while i work....lol hope yall like'em, Eddie II

I finally got pics of my new paint on the '73, I'm very pleased with the way it turned out - the old brown just had to go... Now it's '97 F150 Dark Toreador Red Metallic. The only original body panels are the cab, doors and hood. Good used front fenders and a '78 box with new sides and the fuel door (which is one of the best mods yet...). New windshield, front and rear glass seals, new door and window weather stripping. The project took about 3 months of 'spare time', and went rather smoothly for my first paint project.

At the same time I got 31x10.50 wild country tires on 15x8 american racing aluminum rims. I really like the look of them and didn't notice a difference with the larger tire in ride or handling. The look very good with stock 2wd F100 suspension, no rubbing and fill the wheel wells nicely.

I also installed a factory a/c system - but still locating parts to mount compressor to 390, plan to have that done before summer...

This included
-install and rebuild of 1973 460
-mounts from Advance Adapters
-accesory brackets from Jeffs Bronco Graveyard
-engine rebuild parts from Summit Racing
-Rebuild C6 Trans
-install Rebuilt np205 T-case (Jeffs Bronco Graveyard)
-true dual exhaust
-replace brake assembly with '79 style
-numerous other parts replaced or rebuilt
Also part of the project was installing a 4 inch Trailmaster suspension lift(Four Wheel Drive Diversified), rebuilding the D44, replacing the bed with a rust free southern box (with dual tank doors), and new wheels and tires

1976 F-150 started out as a stripped 300-6/3sp no options
then it got dual tanks, and carpet, then XLT seat and headliner, then after 400,000 miles the 300 died, it got a 390/c-6 and power steering, then converted to factory A/C, now, its a crewcab with tilt steering...

I suppose it will be a 4x4 next... ;-)

My 460 with 150 K was burning oil so I yanked it, then I decided I would toss the C6 too. I installed a NV4500 5 speed that gives me an overdrive for the highway(saves some gas). This is an expensive conversion around 3K for everthing. Advance adapters supplied the engine tranny adapter. I got the bellhousing,equalizer suports, clutch lever and throwout bearing from a 78 Bronco and got new 12 inch 1 1/8 10 spline clutch disc from a Chebbie. Twelve inch diaphragm clutch from the Bronco also. It was necessary to trim the NV4500 input shaft and bearing retainer a little. Clutch linkages came from Bronco graveyard and pedal assembly from the boneyard. It was necessary to lengthen the driveline a little and also do a new exhaust and carpeting and also get a tranny tunnel cover from the boneyard. I was able to use the C6 crossmember support by dropping it down to to the bottom rail. What made this conversion so much work was going from auto to manual. I took alot of pictures and will post them when I can. So far it working well.

just finished rebuilding the motor in my truck .it has a 429 thats .030 over about 10.1:1. it has ported heads done by RHP(aka the mad porter) custom ground cam from RHP also ,edelbrock performer intake with a 2" spacer,holley 750 ,recurved distributer by (RHP also) and exiting thru hooker super comp headers.it also has a 2500 stall converter in it .it currently has 35" bfg all terrains on it now . replaced the rusty body parts as you can see from pics .will repaint it later this summer. some pics are in my gallery
