Thats retro dude! When I was a kid back in the 70's thats how everybody outfitted their 2wd trucks around here. It's sort of like a mullet for trucks.

Edit your post and put that number in the text, the search engine doesn't search images. ;)

That's alright Chris, I got him for you. ;)

That's an engineering number, on the part.
You know that, right?

Today, right now I got up and closed the windows on my truck.
It's raining hard and I am sick as a dog.

Dave804 05-03-2012 07:28 AM

Nah, didn't see any other identifiers, sorry. Used to PN's being XXX.XX.XXX-letter.

Raining here too. I looked at the truck when I ran out to get food, if that counts :D

Yup.

The number stamped/printed/cast into the part is the Engineering ID number, the replacement service part number is different (but usually shares the middle component). The parts catalog will sometimes also give Engineering ID numbers to help one identify a part (and find its service part number) hence my request that you post it, finding this kind of crap in the parts catalog can sometimes be a PITA but that 19A179 you listed should (might) get me in the right direction if I never need to venture there. ;)

I put my tool box in the truck last night.

Today I got 20" Boss 335s on my '80 F100. I don't think I can post pictures, but they're in my album if anyone is interested.

Mod Edit: When in your album looking at a picture, copy the IMG code below it and paste it into a post to make that picture show up inline. :)

Nice looking wheels, now you just need to paint the brake drums, discs, and calipers.

Thanks. Brake paint is probably the next project, that and wheel spacers to get the caps on the front wheels. It seems like every completed change creates three new projects.

When I did a complete brake job on my truck last year, I used some Chassis Saver on both the drums and rotors (should have done the calipers too), then used some gloss black Rustoleum on them. All of the parts were new and I wanted to keep them from rusting up like they were old.

Looking good, Dave! Is that a picture of the brakes after a year of use, or is that when you'd just painted them? I'm just trying to understand how the paint is holding up.

Whole undercarriage looks better than my truck lol.

Took the distributor out, new stator and springs. Cleaning. Being a pita about going back in, need a second hand. Pulled the fan to bench test it. After that I was hot and tired, threw in the towel (literally)

Thoroughly black truck, looks great. Is that VHT on the tail lights, or just the angle?

82f100460 05-06-2012 06:20 PM

Today, and yesterday :), I dropped the pan on my C6, drained all the fluid, changed the filter and pulled the shifter shafts out to replace the inner and outer seals.

Didn't help it shift any better but NO LEAKS!!

Thanks for all the help Bill :)

VHT? Don't know what that is, but it's just the standard tail-light.

Every bit of paint on the truck right now is 2$ home depot spray paint can black (looks good from a distance, but closer than 20 feet is blegh. Bondo in the passenger cab corner, the top of both wheel arches on the bed, and the bottom corners of the bed down next to the bumper. The only spot that looks bad on the bed bondo wise is the arch seen in this photo. I could use some more work on the cab corner, but meh.

Either way, I did it this way because the clear coat was coming off, and just wanted something that I didn't have to worry about scratching. One day I might put a new cab on it, and get it all painted up and done up right. Until then, it's a working man's truck. :D Mechanically, it's getting very sound. Still needs a PS pump, and that's it. Done a crap-load to it since I've had it.

I wish my truck looked as good as all of yours on here. One day, though, one day...
