I had to do a starter on the my late mom's Taurus, now owned by my best bud. The Escape wouldn't run after a stop on my wife's way home. Called AAA & before they got there, damned if it didn't start & run just fine all the way home. First time in 4 years its done anything wrong. Will have to whip out the scanner I got for Xmas in the AM & have a "talk" with it.

Glad your prob was minor, Mark. Now maybe you can get that axle bearing done.

HELP anyone know waht spring i'm talking about and how it goes in there?

Can't wait until those "dog days" of July and August :-fire
David, Did you find out what was wrong with the escape?

Scndsin 06-24-2009 10:14 AM

Not a clue. No codes in koeo or koer. Appears to be sporadic across the model as to comming & going every few K. Can't get an answer as to if heat related or not Recomended course of repair is change FF & clean IAC but no one is certain if this is a fix or just chance. Some say is water in tank.
