Do you have pics of the orange peel? I'm about to do a brake job too but I'm having trans problems now :(
I just went outside and got a few new pics for you. I haven't washed the truck in over a month with all the rain here. The first pics show the area with orange peal, then a few of the rest of the truck. Most of the truck is perfect. Maaco does not wet sand and rub out paint, so how it came out of the painters gun is what you get. (you get what you pay for) You can see he did a good job on most of it, I'm just a little anal about it because I used to do it for a living. But it's not a big deal and if I get bored this winter I will wet sand and rub out the paint. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...e4cebc6505.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...5b9a4d4000.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...61e0564bcf.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...bb76afa865.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...e6c715fb9e.jpg |

Haven't updated thread since stuff I have done is not very picture worthy. But I have also done front brakes/lines, rear diff fluid, rear fuel pump/sender, starter, solenoid, cables, water pump, hoses, coolant, O2 sensor, IAC, MAP sensor. Still need to change trans fluid/filter. Going to make new cooler lines since they are rusty and put a bigger cooler on it. The factory tow package cooler looks to small to me. The best part is I sold my 2011 Ram when I finished this in August. That Ram cost me $600 a month so not paying for that this F250 has almost already paid for itself. |
Jay I'm a transmission man & I think the trans will need fluid & a new screen & theres a drain plug in the torque too, may as well drain it all huh
the srceen has one screw thats longer than the rest, take note of its location theres a 2wd screen & a 4wd screen, make sure you get the right one is it shifting OK |
Not sure how you feel about these but with the tail lights you have I think these will look great on your truck:

They are the only ones that makes the clear corner light for the 87-91s.
I personally also like them I plan to put them on one or a few of the trucks we have. Trav |

Sounds good, a small shift kit would help or if its fine then just a service will help for sure,
She's a 'honey for the money' .... :-X06 Oh and I forgot I had to replace that stupid cast aluminum arm thing in the steering column. That was the only time it left me stranded since I got it. It broke in the morning in the driveway before work. So had to have a friend from work pick me up and take me home. While on the way home we stopped at the parts store and I got the cast arm thing, ignition switch, and new key switch/tumbler. Figured if I had to take it apart to replace the cast arm thing I would just do the other stuff as well. |
The dreaded ignition actuator. I hate that thing. It is ready to go on the 90 F150.
So glad my 88 F150 doesn't have one. Trav |
I want to keep this truck as my daily driver for at least 3-4 years. And then start building my dream truck in 2-3 years. Ford never made my dream truck so I will have to build it myself.
Dream truck is 1993-1996 F350 Crew Cab Short Bed 4x4 Dually, not sure if I will do a 460 or a 7.3 Diesel. Did Ford make a CCSB F350 single wheel 4x4? Or will I have to convert a F250 CCSB 4x4? |
That did but I think it was 96 and 97 only. Diesel Brad has one that he converted to dually then back to SRW.

Do you have any threads on your trucks?? I love Ford trucks! I had a 2001 F150 CC 4x4 5.4 and a 2008 F150 CC Limited AWD. I need to find some pics of those trucks. The 2001 died on my way to Alaska in 2008 (shot a spark plug out of the head). So I was in a little town in WA when that happened with a full truck and the brand new 2008 F150 Limited was the cheapest truck the Ford Dealer had on the lot (the rest was F250, 350 and Harley's). Got screwed on my trade in also on the 2001 but I had to be on the Alaska Ferry to Ketchikan AK the next day. |
