2012

Hi, I am a senior master technician with Ford Motor Company.I have been with my dealership for a little over 5 years and have been a diesel technician for 11. The newer 6.7 is light years ahead of the 6.0 and 6.4 due to the fact that it is a true powers troke not an International, sorry Navistar engine. Prior to the 6.7'school release in late 2010, it underwent rigorous testing in the field for about 5 years. Now with all the epa reg's, all the emission items such as the egt sensors,no sensors, and the dpf system, Ford has pretty much worked out most of the bugs with these systems. I have no doubt you will get 100,s of thousands of miles out of your truck and the dealer you bought it from will fix the cell as long as the tech working on it knows what he\she is doing and is not just a parts changer.

Thanks, unfortunately, I had to drive 3 hours away to buy the truck. The service manager there told me that it was all good because he cleared the code. Which obviously doesn't fix the problem. So I demanded that they fix it, and he said that the service department is now closed and that he was going home. He told me not to worry because it was and o2 sensor.

Well, if he meant a NOx sensor, then he was correct. My dealer at home is fixing it, but first they just did the recall of the engine management only. Light came back on, so I took it back and they replaced the NOx sensor. Light came on again, my wife took it back and to my understanding they had to reprogram the NOx module? Something like that. So hopefully the light won't come back on again.

Oh, and I plan to get lots of miles, but this is my first truck. I am used to subarus and have tuned many to over 500 whp out of a 4 cylinder. So as a Ford Master tech, what is your opinion on a cold air intake and a filter back exhaust? More worried about if it will void the warranty? Sorry, I would PM you, but I don't think that I have enough posts yet?

My 2003 F250 Super Duty has about 370,000, but my 67 C600 broke the speedo when it hit 750,000 about 15 years ago. But my 55 F1 only has 200,000. I wish though I had time to drive them at least every week. Definitely my 55 F1 is my favorite with edlebrock supplied
tri power.

97 351W with 206,875 on the clock and runs and drives like its brand new, beat on daily also so I was wondering if I have a speed limiter on my truck to make it pass the 95 mph or what ever it tops out at

I have to ask. Do you have a 2000 model truck with a 6.0? Did I read that correctly?

KDAVID1 02-26-2015 10:15 PM

Doubt it unless he converted. 2003 was the first year.

6.0L here--149K on mine will hit 150k next week probably.

1972 F250 tow truck over 500,000 as far as I could estimate. Odometer broke some time after 300,000 miles. On 3rd motor and second transmission. Have had a Frantz toilette paper oil filter on it since 1985. Still on the road and totally functional. Getting ready to start some restoration on it.
