It sounds like they really havent changed much then. That is about how I would describe how they were back then.

I keep picturing Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman! I am happy to say, it is no longer on my bucket list. Life is short. Squeeze as much out of it as you can. At least that is my philosophy.:-X06

If she goes to a Texas school, it will be 100% free and I would LOVE that, but it's not what she prefers. If she stayed in state, that would save me a ton of money, but more importantly, I could visit her without an airline ticket. Other schools in her list include Johns Hopkins and UPenn, to name a couple.

What Major...?

HaHa Roy! I've enjoyed amateur "photography" since about age 13.}>

As far as majors, she is considering either research oncology, or bio-medical engineer.

Hey fellas, anybody know anything about stripping a hardwood floor from the 50's ?
I assume that any old black gunk has to come off before I can expect the sander to work properly, right ?
Man my shoulders are sore !!!

Never done it personally, but I know I've seen quite a few attachments for the floor sanders at the rental shops. See if they have any recommendations...:-huh

Evenin gents!
Doug had mentioned washing his truck earlier, so I just got finished washing mine. This was the first time it's been cleaned up since I installed the lift, bout half way through I questioned that decision!:D oh well. I actually cleaned up the company truck while I was at it.
Tim, you should be able to get some good wood stripper to get the upper layers off. It's pretty messy and labor intensive, but easier than just sanding. It'll be worth it in the end though. How big of an area are you dealing with. As Chad mentioned, a floor sander will be the ticket to finish it off.

Y'all have a good one!:-wink

Dakster 02-06-2015 08:26 PM

Just a thought, have you tried using hardwood floor stripper first?

Also, they make machines that you use while standing that will sand the floors.

Personally, I would use my phone to sand the floors. I'd call a place that does it all the time to come out and do it. In my more healthier years I probably would have tackled it myself like you are though.
