New WA resident

Hi, all. I'm a new Washington resident, having escaped Mexifornia for the second (and last) time. Been a member of FTE for a while, but I'm hoping to connect with Ford truck fans here in Eastern Washington.

I have two Fords, a '79 Bronco Ranger XLT in excellent original condition, and a 1990 F 250 Custom Supercab 4x4, that is, well a "work" truck. I try to do as mcuh maintenance and repairs myself as I can, as I am unemployed at the moment, so the help I find at FTE (as well as the Bronco websites) is invaluable.

Hope to see you around!

New Member Here

Hi All,
My name is Nelson and I moved here after being stationed at McChord AFB. Originally from back East [PA and NH].
My first new vehicle was a 67 Mustang. Now I'm on my 3rd Ford P/U [F 150, 4wd, Auto]. I prefer standards like my older 84 with vent windows [wish Ford still had them].
I asked in another post what kind of tranny would be better doing timber work. Some of our land is on a 30 degree slope. I was going to put a 15,000 lb. Ramsey winch on my 2000 truck but Ramsey said my truck isn't adaptable to it. Maybe I'll try Warn or drop down to a smaller size that I can move from front to rear bumper when I get stuck. I'll be using the winch like a choker to haul out timber.
I know I'm nuts but I have thought of making my 2wd 1984 into a true 4 wheel drive. But I'm no mechanic and money is tight.
So I'll probably make my wife's 2000 pick-up my work truck:-duel1.
Any thoughts on the best tranny and winch would be appreciated .

Hello, new here originally from MN been out here in Snohomish for 7 years now and glad to have found such a great forum. I drive an 05 SCAB FX4 and am waiting for some new parts then I'll get some photos up. I'm about to try my first remote start install so if anyone in the area would like to see that just PM me otherwise I'll try to take some photos and post them.
