Good morning gang, and happy Pearl Harbor Day.
Gavin, good luck at the beer camp. Looks like you did lots of reading and took great notes! Trent, cool pics and I agree with others about your truck! Looks great. I'm not sure if a few of you just haven't yet gone to bed, or if you're up early as I am. Either way - Howdy! Have a great day. |
watch out.. 71790 is 22-22.5 inches tall to the top of the filler.. you won't be able to use a tonneau cover..
from the northern tool Q&A on it "The tank is NOT 19" to the top of the fuel cap. The tank is 19" tall WITHOUT the fuel cap. The fuel caps adds an additional 3 1/2" to the overall height of the tank. I emailed RDS and they sent me a schematic of the tank." & "This tank itself will be 19" tall, and the filler cap will sit 3" above the tank, for an overall height of 22"." i bought 71712 which did not fit. (amazon) and returned it. |
Trent - Thanks for the pics, your truck is a beast . For a nano-second I thought you put a stack on your truck. :D
Doug - My son has been off the crutches for about 10 days. He had a Dr. appointment Friday, the doc told him he could go back to work. Yea! Thanks for asking. I hope all is quiet at the perfume factory. Roy - Amazon has the 71790 for $515.66 and free shipping if you have a prime membership. Delivery by Dec. 18th......looks like they are currently out of stock. It was a rough night at beer camp, the guys made me drink tequila and look at some new guns they just purchased. :-jammin |
Gavin, glad for a good report on your son. Too bad about being forced to drink tequila and look at guns. That had to be terrible!
Things aren't exactly quiet at the perfume factory today, but so far, at least it isn't exciting. Yesterday we had excitement when two of our three boilers decided to shut down at the exact same time. That has been resolved now. Today, the unit that had the tummy ache is coming back on line, along with all of the downstream units. We are hoping for nice, slow, uneventful start-ups for all of them, but above all we want it safe! They won't be fully up before midnight tonight at the earliest, but I hope they are all lined out by the time I start my night shift Tuesday. I'm on days now, but have tomorrow off. |
Doug, I hope the start up goes well.

Sam....Thank You !!!..........You warned me about that once before....:-X19
I am pleased that you are keeping me outa trouble........:) these guys must think their aluminum is the bees knees.. cause they sure to gouge for it.. (not just RDS).. oh, and one other thing.. they have a nice tank fuel gauge (manual), but its upside down from outside the truck where you would look over the rail to read it.. but due to the float arm, you can't turn it around.. |
Roy - my bad, I looked at the wrong price for the 71790 on 3GToolboxes, it's only $401. I'm putting that bad boy my Christmas list, thanks for the linky. :-X22

Camping World also has RDS tanks on sale, altho I think they mark them up then discount them , still higher than Northern.

Wait! does ANYONE think that is POSSIBLE?!
The wifey really likes the idea of fewer stops for fuel when we head out west. I need to get the install kit too, so thanks for mentioning that Sam. :-drink |
