N-FABŪ - Ford Excursion 2000-2005 3" Nerf Steps

FYI- Some do not like how the N-FAB's are when getting out of the vehicle.

Its dirt roads that wrecked the powder coating on mine, they were fine up until the Rocks to Riches trip. When my replacements come (if IC gets their act together) if I still have issues with them chipping I'll probably look into getting them Line-X'd or Rhino'd.

Great... my truck spends a great deal of time on dirt/gravel roads...

Any specific complaints you recall?

I've heard bad things about the N-fab as well :( the placement of the step is a little off from what I've read. I'll try to find where I saw the reviews, but it's bee awhile since I saw them. It's been at least since before this GB.

Immortal_Ben 01-06-2015 10:56 AM

Aiight. Thats a bummer, because I really like how they look.

Bently_Coop 01-06-2015 06:02 PM

^ That's the thing is they look good but when exiting the vehicle you can't get your foot on the step to leave. My brothers roommate had them and a couple of the Super Duty guys on here have them. I think King-branch is one of them.

I guess I will just wait and see how the customer service turns out here, see what happens about the bed liner option, and go from there.

Called Iron Cross today, in less than 5 minutes I was able to find out what was going on and the person on the phone was far more helpful than whoever had been handling the emails. My steps were shipped on 1/6 and should be here on 1/12.

Im curious to see if the powder coating on this pair is any better and I will post updates when I get a chance to see the replacements.

Just realized I posted alll these updates about chipping but no pictures.

From the representative at Iron Cross "that definitely not a recurring problem, however, it does look like the steps are well used" (no duh they look like they got sand blasted:-arrgh)

AHHH Crapola

davewave649 01-12-2015 06:29 PM

Just got my big box from IC. These ones look better straight out of the box. The texture on the powder coating is a little different and the coating itself seems thicker. Also where asmy first pair had small chips under the steps where the bolts for the tread plates go, this pair has no chips anywhere out of the box.
