Sounds like you are making progress Nick. Keep it up! I'm curious as well to see how this turns out.

I've gotta admit. The way you say that seems a little concerning

Naw man! I tell you I wouldn't have the confidence to just tear into an engine like that. Hoping you get it back up and running soon!

Meeee to. There's some good info and people that can steer me in the right direction on this site. Plus my nieghbors a good diesel mechanic

Nick, you may want to consider ordering a set of the welded piston oil jets from Riffraff. They are only about $80. With a newly rebuilt engine it would be a shame to have one fall out after you get it all back together and drop a cylinder.

Already on the list. Along with cups valves seats lifters and I forgot to ask about wrist pins. I'll do that this am.

That wouldn't be a bad idea at all if any power mods are planned.

I got an amazing price from a local auto parts store that wanted them off his shelf. I believe my answer was "I'm on my way" when he told me.

So I went onto clays site today and probably looked like an unsupervised kid with a hundred bucks in a candy store. Anyways when I was through I called clay and he told me a few things I forgot about and a few things I didn't need cause it comes with the rebuild kit. Even after all that neither of us noticed that I didn't put valve springs on the list so I'll email him tonight.

So far on the list I've got

.030 rebuild kit with machines pistons
Intake and exhaust valves
Lifters
Wrist pin bushings
Welded oil jets
No limits chip w/custom tunes

Still to order

Hpop
Stage 2's
38r turbo
Exhaust
Clutch

At least when I get the first batch I can start to build the motor. I had planned on getting the injectors on route to rosewood today but got tied up with feed salesman and tomorrow the nutritionist is coming out. I need to get my cows milking a little better. At any rate that's where I am at.
