That's a huge difference, 8-10K square, 250 round. Guess not a lot of people probably buy the round. I know last year everyone was hording their hay and if I remember, it was because the 2nd cutting was so scarce, prices also went up.

Funny, after I posted this, I see the wife's search history was "hay" on craigslist!! Damn, we just spent a crapass load of money on hay, how much are these drafts eating!!??

Squarebales are so much easier to market. Not everyone has the equipment to handle roundbales. On top of that, we never really had the storage for roundbales, and weathered roundbales aren't worth much. Funny you mention about high hay prices last winter. Thanks to that I seen people baling weeds up think year thinking it will be worth something. I suppose it's better than snowballs?:confused:


Your wife has drafts? Like huge draft horses?
