my sister-in-law's step father.
everyone says it is no big deal if i don't go, but Mac was a part of our combined family for 35 years, so i think going is the proper thing to do.

tis not a big thing Steve.
in fact, it was a blessing for him to pass away. in the past year and 1/2, he went from minor forgetfulness to advanced Alzheimer's. he was so bad that he did not even know who was anymore.
it got to the point where they did not bring him to any family functions anymore, cause he did not know anyone, so was afraid to leave his room in the home.

sorry to hear about this and for your loss.. im starting to see my mother go into dementia... we found out she has not mailed utility and other bills out for months, and she ran the oil tank out of oil cause she never ordered oil and she was screaming in a bank claiming they stole money.. the account she closed years ago
my parents have been self imposed shut ins for several years
luckilly they lived doing alot of travelling and all years back.. i do hope your relative led a full life while he could
