I received my running boards yesterday and they look great...probably won't put them on till the weekend, but I wanted to thank Wolff, CarID for their great communication and service. They're refunding me $80 to price match the truckcandy free shipping price. Thanks again to Apocalypse for setting this up.

I emailed wolf, but havent heard back. Need to check again
|
So do we have to contact Wolfe individually about the price match? I thought they were taking care of the entire group?

LOL. I almost put Wolffe....

The refund came from Mary Peto... Support@carid.com. I would think the discount would be different for everyone since the shipping varied. Seems to me like wolf Wolffe wolff is standing his price match promise. No matter how we spell his name!

So what was the total cost for you guys then?

$0.00
Cuz Mark is a BAMF that rains bills like pigeon **** over a freshly washed ride. |

My total cost was $395 with free shipping, I'm in New Jersey so I had to pay sales tax, but I think that is only for NJ customers.
I used some of the $80 I saved to buy stainless steel hardware. I spent so much time cleaning up the rust trapped by the old running boards, I don't want to risk the new bolts spreading rust from the truck to the new running boards or vice versa. Call me paranoid. :-X18 |

I think that's a little harsh on yourself. You took the initiative to share and organize a group buy, instead of just talking about it like so many people do. That last bit isn't a dig on anyone in particular or even on here on FTE. It's just an observation from years on different forums. Everyone talks about doing group buys, but very few ever come to fruition. If anything, it opened the door to the potential for more group buys AND better prices in the future should there be another item a lot of people want. So what if people got em $30 cheaper or whatever, a lot of us got them substantially cheaper as is! For that, you have my thanks and gratitude.
Now let's talk about a 38R group guy...}> |

Not to bad, but not what it should have been either. I feel I let you guys down by not finding that last site and I apologize. If or when I do another I will spend a few days more making sure it's the best possible deal I can get us. Had I found that it might have been another $30 less, or maybe he would have just said "I can't beat that" and been done with it. Who knows. All I know is I screwed up :(
You did NOT let anybody down, things happen, offers change. I am grateful and appreciative of your efforts and the fact that CARID has a match policy. Win, Win all the way around. Now get to work on the 38 R group buy. }> |
