Morning Carl... it sure is cool this morning. It got down to 42 last night.

I have for one of my computer desktop wallpaper the picture that was taken of the FDNY fireman raising the american flag at Ground Zero in the same manner of the Marines raising the flag at Iwo Jima. Both are very emotional and powerful images in my opinion.

Hello New York 9-11 We Wont Forget

I try to avoid that memory. Way too close, and way too personal for me.

Just walked the dog through the park today, they have a 9/11 memorial there. Had to look away and keep walking not to choke up. Even the dog looked at me like "what's wrong?".

We have a whole lot of NYFD and NYPD members here on Long Island, and Lindenhurst lost a few. Lost a few friends-of-friends, way too much locally here.

Anyway, good afternoon all.

Art, I can fully understand what you are saying. I personally had a distant relative that paid the supreme sacrafice defending our freedom in Afghanastan and he was a Marine.
Also being a fireman, in my case a volunteer, I know the bond that is formed between people. I consider everyone that does this a brother or sister and we are one large family.
