i know they got kits for em.. but the turbos tear up the K&N filters... first sucks them dry then rips apart the media at the same time...

i got AFE's dry system in mine... its a happy truck... first trip i did with the stock system.. got 17-18mpg... this last trip i got 19.5-20mpg outta it... :)

fire240 11-28-2012 07:30 PM

Sounds good Shawn.

Sparky83 11-28-2012 07:34 PM

yup... and this time i was enjoying the fact i got to stop next to the big rigs at their truck stops to fill up hehehe.... theyd be at one pump and id be right next to em lol...

fire240 11-28-2012 07:37 PM

Thats always fun Shawn. I remember the one cemetary I worked at. We would just drive the backhoe down to the gas station to fill the diesel tank. Was interesting to say th eleast. The backhoe had an extended rear boom so it was taller then normal. But it would fit. Freaked people out when they say that there. The dumptruck at that cemetary we would fill with a gas can. Wasnt safe to take that on the street with only one wheel cylinder working.

Sparky83 11-28-2012 07:38 PM

yup.. nothing like pulling up next to one of them things and using the same pump they are... lol

fire240 11-28-2012 07:40 PM

My next truck will be a diesel.

FORD RANGER 11-28-2012 07:41 PM

yeah the afe filters are made just for diesels. and turbo diesels too.

fire240 11-28-2012 07:43 PM

I might switch from the K and N I have to an AFE dry filter.

Sparky83 11-28-2012 07:43 PM

i originally didnt want a diesel... but for the price i wanted to pay and the miles i was gonna end up being in... i knew diesels were still barely broken in then...

and ironically im loving my little diesel... wish itd move a little faster though...

fire240 11-28-2012 07:44 PM
