larry, are you looking at new or used?
Only vehicle Shari and I have ever bought new is her 08 Escape. It was right off of the transport.
My 2011 F150 we bought through CarMax, and was really, supprised at the way they are set up.
They gave me more for my 01 F150 than I would have given for it. And the 2011 we bought was $3.000.00 under book, and the best part to us was, the price includes tax's, and registration:-hair. We didn't even have to go to the license office that we all hate so much:-X22.
I'd use them again without a doubt.

Well hope everybody has a good rest of the day. It's finally nice out so I'm gonna clean out the inside of the truck.

Y'all be good, or at least be good at it.
Bob:-wink

Used, she hates the 13+ body style.

ubereal2 08-14-2014 05:51 PM

We don't like the look of the new body styles either. The 08, is the first year of the last body style (same year we have)
But it may be worth looking at www.carmax.com and just snoop around.
But the last time I did that, well it cost $22.500.00, but the truck still booked out at over $25K. And all of the tax's are included. We didn't even have to go to the license office, (I hate that place). I don't mean to sound like a commercial, but we were really impressed with the way that place is set up, and runs.

Unk Bob:-wink

Have to check it out, she likes the older body style to, so basically 06-12 is a possibility. Just depends on what we find, biggest limiting factor is mileage. I will not buy one with over 120k miles, no if/an or but's about it

77mud 08-15-2014 08:39 PM

Well the stealership tried there best to do just that. Told them to shove there offer where the sun don't shine.

Looks like a nice weekend, so who's doing what?
Larry, what dealership tried to do what? I absolutely hate going to a car dealership.
Hope y'all have a nice weekend.

Bob, I bought my 02 TJ from Carmax going in 7 years ago now. It was in great shape, all maintainance was caught up. I don't remember it being the lowest price possible, but with all the new parts including shoes and top, it was worth paying the extra. It wasn't a hassle, had all the options I wanted, and didn't feel pressured. I'm also not one to negotiate, I won't negotiate my price and I don't consider buying a car I think is over priced. So Carmax worked for me for that. Might not be someone's cup of tea. I'd recommend Carmax again. Also as a side note I was working for Leith at the time, though I like the company, I still felt better about the no haggle policy at Carmax.

Marine chevy in jacksonville, they saw it listed on craigslist and called about it. 05 ranger edge with 80000 miles blue book is around 11. Rough trade is a little over 6500. Clean trade in is around 8500. They threw us a 5000 offer out there. Truck has 1 small dent under tail light from a parking lot no other issues.

Greetings...North Carolina folks. Enjoy your weekend!

Welp I'm on night shift this week, going from working 6-1630 to working 1600-0430. This is gonna suck been up since 0600 and I can't even catch a nap between it being light in the house, and Smokey and the bandit is on tv..

77mud 08-19-2014 09:07 PM

Last night got cut short to a 10 hour shift due to bad storms, bed at it 0300 up at 0700 and I'm 6 hours into a 12 hour shift. $.99 rip it "F bombs" are my friend right now, and it's starting to rain again. But we got the flightline lit up like the forth of July.

ubereal2 08-20-2014 06:56 AM

Ouch, four hours of sleep, and working 12 hour shifts is not fun.
Before my son was born, I worked at a print shop in North Kansas City. We made McDonalds Happy Meal box's. When we got that order, everybody worked 12 hour shifts, and that would go until the order was filled, 10 to 12 weeks. Being the low man on the totem pole, I got in on the worst shift possible. Start at 3am, till 3pm, trying to sleep in the afternoon kicked my butt hard, even though I was worn out.
You can't beat .99 cent F bombs though!

I may have asked already but don't remember..:-X21 Are you at Cherry Point Larry?

77mud 08-20-2014 11:04 AM

Yea I work contract on cherry point for a environmental company. Most if the year I'm straight 40 hours 0600-1630 Tuesday-Friday an have a 3 day weekend. But we sample 4 times a year for 2 weeks a piece. Every other sampling event we have to sample in FRC East which is impossible during the day so we switch to night's for a week.

fuzzy1626 08-20-2014 11:34 AM

I was stationed there from 66 to 68. MABS 14 motor transport. Ah the good old days....:-drink....:-hair
