    Hi Doug. I guess I figured it out. Anyways if you still have the stock carb and oilbath air filter I would love to have them. I have a Holley1904 on now and I just put a kit in it. But the floatbowl is all out of whack and leaks a bit. Not sure which carb was original to the 226. I could probably use a choke cable too if your not gonna use it. I could use one headbolt since mine has one of those with the block heater in it. You probably don't want to take one out tho and I understand.If you have a spare door latch mech for the passenger side that would be most handy too. Most of the other stuff I could use are pretty heavy so shipping would cost me a bit. Anyways, if you still have some of these things let me know. Thanks

    Hi Doug, I decided to with a Flathead. I sold my 302 but kept my C4. Still not sure if I will go with my C4 or my original 4speed tranny. From a guy over at the HAMB, you should be able to install the 302 and C4 w/out cutting the original engine and transmission crossmembers, if that is important to you. It was to me. He has one pic on the hamb showing 302 and original cross members.

    Doug - you do not want to know!!!!

    My buddy (who owns a shop where the truck is stored / worked on at) told me to keep hammering away at it and wiggle it until it comes loose and then pull - because I could not get a wheel puller on it - so we went this route...

    BUT - I sometimes over muscle things and snapped the entire section of the wheel and now still have part of the steering wheel on the column!! I shot myself in the foot on this one!

    The steering wheel would had to go anyway - but now I am in a worse position as I need to figure out how to get the other part off the column.
