Howdy Kansas - I was just reading though my post and realized you asked to pick my brain about brakes on the F-600. I haven't been on here for awhile and just spent the last 2 weeks getting the beast road worthy (I posted a couple of videos). Feel free to give me a call if you still have your truck. My number is 559-625-3199 - Bill
For 2 years I was looking at 57 - 59 Chevy 2 ton trucks in hopes of buying just the right one one to toy around with and accidentally stumbled across a very nicely weathered 57 F600 with a 13' bed & hoist, decent rubber, good interior and glass, mechanically sound except brakes are a bit soft and the body is absolutely solid (although really in need of a paint job). The price was less than scrap and I just couldn't pass it up. It appears to have a 292 in it with a 4 speed and 2 speed rear axle. Since I spent all my time in the past looking for Stovebolts I have no idea where to start looking for information on 2 ton Fords. Can anyone point me in the right direction for old locating '57 Ford medium duty specs and also advise me of any Ford Medium duty truck forums I might want to poke around in. It really is a neat old truck - not sure what I'll do with it other than haul brush and firewood but dang if it don't look cool.
