USN 1972-1978. Yes, VP6, NAS Barbers Point, HI. VP6 "Blue Sharks"(73-75) was deactivated in 1993 I believe. From there I was transferred to Pacific Missile Test Center at Point Magu, Ca. One P3, one flight crew. Initial testing on the Harpoon Missile. Fantastic duty!

Yeah.. NO LEO training here, I believe at the age of 44, I might have just passed the window of opertunity for that profession. Younger Brother on the other hand is a Firearms instructor for both the his police department, and the collage.

Yep, we were all newbies once, for that matter, I'm kinda still a newbie. Talking that way to some one just looking for advice or help is just uncalled for. I guess it's easy for guys like that to be punks behind a key board. Thanks for the rep!

Yup, they spent a lot of effort moving people around--my dad was in radio school, sub school, eventually some civil affairs thing learning Japanese, but was finally sent on to Okinawa on D+10. A horrible experience. He was there for a year after the war. My late father-in-law moved from one thing to another and never left the states. His brother ended up in Germany as BAR man at the end, and said most of the Germans he saw were running like hell with their hands up to surrender to the Americans before the Russians got there.
