I haven't had any issues with the 285's. I air them down to about 30psi from 65 and it just goes. It originally came with Firestone Transforce ATs in stock size and they were just awful - no traction and the steering wander was horrible. Went to the 285s in the Mickey Thompson ATZ and it's night and day. No steering wander and haven't gotten stuck yet. Coming out of Coquina Beach I've had to stop for a few special folks who couldn't figure out how to turn left to get off the beach. I just backed up and it just went - no problems. I'd highly recommend the 285's. Make sure you have 4x4 engaged before you hit the sand since the system needs to turn a couple of wheel revolutions before it's fully engaged. Also - air the tires down before you go out and you wont have a problem. If you need tires - stop on by -I'll be glad to hook you up. We're at MP 6 - Coastal Fast Lube - 252-449-4095.

I live over in Currituck and have had an Excursion for 1.5yrs now. Would you mind telling me if you have ever had issues driving in Corolla or Oregon Inlet with the 285's you have on yours? Do you air them down?

I have the stock 265's on mine and I'm afraid that I will stick it, even aired down, so I still take the jeep to the beach. Never and issue with the jeep.

Do you think that the 285's make much of a difference on the beach from the 265's?

Yes - the screens are mounted directly to the seat frame. I have the screens setup to run off the front unit - so the front unit and the seat screens (vid 1) can all show the same source. The rear DVD player can run both screens at the same time (vid 2) and then each screen can be run independently on vid 3 (xbox). Then each screen can manually be changed to vid 1, 2 or 3. I like the fact they will automatically turn on when they get a source on any of the 3 inputs.

So the screens can display seperate sources at the same time I guess. Are the mounts screwed into the metal support in the seat that is pictured in your install?
