I was looking at your duraspark II conversion posts and how to and came up with a few questions I was hoping you might be able to clarify for me. In it you stated that you got a harness from an 82 (picture shows a small harness, like the one that runs from the Ecore type coil,TFI module, except tht it has the duraspark connectors as well )My question here is you also mentioned the connectors on it plugging into your truck's existing harness. If I'm understanding what your pictures are saying it's just a matter of changing out the TFI harness for the Duraspark harness. ( + the distributor, wires ,coiland non feedback carburetor. I have a 85 Bronco with the EEC IV TFI system, What about the main harness that runs to underneath the dash off the firewall and plugs into the computer, What would have to be done to it for the conversion to work and what connection did you use to power the Duraspark II?My email address is: unclejimschultz97@msn.com
Hey Guy - nice write-up on the duraspark 2 conversion. I just took the 300 six out of my wrecked 83' and dropped it in an 84' I bougtht with a blown motor. These are Broncos BTW. Anyway I've been working the kinks out of it and somehow killed my spark! I had a jumper wire on the 12V + side and touched it to the other side of the sylinoid and fried something (like a complete idiot). so anyway now I have no spark.
Any advise on where I should begin?
