I have been working in the Oilfield for about 15 years most of them in the Persian gulf. I am now a stability engineer so I sit at the desk for 12 hours hanging out since I bought the EX in Sept last year I have been here reading EVERYTHING I can find out. My EX and TT are over in the show us your camper section pretty close to the last page. I am more of a lurker than a poster Thank again for the information. I tried to reply to your PM but couldn't figure out how

LOL I had to make 2 post in here because of Character count

Now I am really worried pulling the TT. LOL I have two trips planned when I get home both of them to the same place about 45 miles away.(Halloween) Honestly I do believe with a pre inspection And hopefully the bolt change I should be good until I get a new hitch and HA. I looked at the Curts and they were rated for 1200# tongue weight with or without weight WD. so it sound to me as they might be over built. I just sent the info over to my Structural Engineer to see what he has to say about it. I do appreciate the info that you gave me it shows there is light at the end of the tunnel. Even with the setup staying at 60 she pulls great so I cant complain.

I am sorry to bother you but I have a question about your TV/TT combo. I am running the same tt as you but my WDH is under-rated for tow weight. Its a Fastway E2 with 1000# bars. I was scolded pretty bad for this on another forum. But that is a different story. Anyway the Arrow or the Propride is in my near future not sure what one yet. My question is did you change out the receiver hitch on your X? I know our tounge weight is around 1450 and my Receiver is only rated for 1200 tounge. I have been reading a lot about your trips you make and am ready to start going further than the 30 miles I am driving now but want to do it safely. I am sorry for the trouble and greatly appreciate any information you can pass along
Oh just incase you need to know My X is a 2000 7.3

I wanted to ask you about the paint code on your Ex. Is that factory paint for '05? My 2000 Ex is going to need new paint sometime in the not too distant future. I had a 2000 Explorer in the Aspen Metallic Green and absolutely loved the color. I'm wondering if yours is the same paint and how to track some down.
