Did you ever get your vss problem fixed? I had the same problem on my 1996 f350. It ended up being a short somewhere in the gauge cluster. I went through I don't know how many speed sensors before I found a post about the gauge cluster. I ordered a gauge cluster on ebay about 3 years ago and have not had an issue with the code or the overdrive light flashing or anything. If you have any questions give me a call 314-560-3171
