I have a 03 6.0.. when you first start it. the truck starts easy you drive it and get it out it well not start back.. I have had the oil rings air tested and no leaks but the HPOP was weak replaced it and the icp had oil in it so its new. the truck is still doing this. what could it be now?

Hi Mike, I am looking to buy a camper, 2005, E450, 6.0, 31,000 miles, normal maintenance, no issues. You answer to me in the pass and said to double the time on a E serie. I normally do my own mech. but have my limits. Being a camper, it sits for long period without running and if I buy it, I would do some preventive maint.

I did a few things on my F350 like turbo, STC, blue spring, ect. I was watching a video and a few things seems to be "not too bad", but maybe I am just dreaming!

    Compare to a pick up:
The turbo seems to be easier to remove from the dog house?
FICM in the back, easier than a pickup from the dog house?
    STC easier from the back?
Oil cooler, probably a son of a b.. to replace?
    EGR cooler, humm?
    EGR valve?
Oil rail or injectors, have to lower the engine?
Fan and big rad, do you have to remove the front end of the truck?

Thanks, it will help me in my decision. Reason I would like this: better MPG, 12 to 15 US MPG, 12,000 $ less than a V10.

Hi there Mike. I just noticed you work at a dealership and was woundering if its not too much trouble you could let me know the book hours to do that oil and egr cooler on that van? It just helps me give the customer a good guidline on a rough estimate. I am a Licenced 310T mechanic up here in the Muskokas and try to stay away from the smaller stuff but .....bills have to be paid i suppose Thanks again for your advice! I also hear Ford makes a pretty good flush for the cooling system?? any thoughts? Thanks

hey man Great to see another Cdn person on here. Im new and have a few questions for you.
i have recently bought a 2006 F-250 Powerstroke 6.0L with 248,000 KMs yes i know I said whooley crap that is alot of kms, however it looked in mint shape. So i have a few questions for you. Should i change the oil right away since buying the truck. there isnt any history of the truck to see when the oil was done.
I was thinking of changing the Oil, oil filter, fuel filter, coolant, and When i first filled up the truck I used SEAFOAM in the fuel what do you think of that. The reason i'm asking is I'm in the Army out in Manitoba and my buddies are Mechanic's like you and i truct them. they say using seafoam is a really good thing on vehicles, and diesel's too.

thanks for your time and reply
